Adam Hamilton leads one of the largest Methodist churches in America. While the people in his congregation share one faith, they don't all share one political view.
"Releasing your cares to god. This is a very faith-based way of dealing with fear. I remind people that long before there was Xanax and Zoloft, there was prayer and meditation and trust that there is somebody bigger than you are, and that that person walks with you even through the valley of death and you do not need to be afraid," said the pastor.
MPR News host Kerri Miller sat down with Hamilton to talk about how he addresses something as divisive as politics in a religious setting.
Hamilton is the pastor at United Methodist Church of the Resurrection and author of "Unafraid: Living with Courage & Hope in Uncertain Times."
