Police say a Minneapolis officer was assaulted by a man he was trying to arrest.
Authorities say the officer was making a traffic stop about 8 a.m. Friday just north of downtown Minneapolis when he discovered an outstanding felony warrant. Police say the officer called for backup after a struggle began with the man he was trying to arrest. Additional officers arrived, arrested the man and took him to the hospital because he was apparently impaired by narcotics.
The officer's injuries weren't life threatening.
