Record-setting rain and snow this week
Wednesday, May 8 brought from 1 to 2 inches of rain to many parts of the state in a storm that lasted for many hours. Late in the day, the precipitation turned to snow in many northern communities dropping from 2 to 10 inches in portions of northeastern Minnesota.
Many places around the state recorded record amounts of rain or snow for this date. Retired University Minnesota meteorologist Mark Seeley talks about the week in weather with Morning Edition host Cathy Wurzer.
