Minneapolis police are investigating a fatal, early morning shooting Friday on the city's north side.

Officers were sent to the 3200 block of Lyndale Avenue North just after 1 a.m. following a 911 call and a ShotSpotter notification that came in to dispatchers around the same time.

Police say they located an adult male victim outside at the scene. He was taken to North Memorial Medical Center where he died a short time later.

The man's name has not been released. Police say no one is in custody at this time.
