One dead, one injured in St. Paul shooting

One person is dead and another injured after a shooting Saturday on St. Paul's east side.

Authorities said officers were called just after noon to a report of shots fired on the 1400 block of Minnehaha Avenue East.

"When officers arrived, they identified a crime scene and were told by witnesses that possible victims from the shooting left the area in a red van," police said in a news release.

Officers located a van matching the description a couple of miles to the west, near the corner of Bradley Street and Bush Avenue. Two male victims were found inside; one was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was transported to a hospital with what authorities said was a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to an arm.

The names and ages of the victims, and further details about what led up to the shooting, were not released as of Saturday night. There was no immediate word of any arrests. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call (651) 266-5650.
