St. Paul, Minneapolis police investigating fatal shootings

Police in St. Paul and Minneapolis are investigating fatal shootings that happened over the weekend. And five people were injured in two other shootings in Minneapolis.

In the fatal shooting in St. Paul, police said it happened at about 11:15 p.m. Friday near the corner of Jackson Street and Timberlake Road. Officers responding to several 911 calls found a male victim outside a residence; he died at the scene.

The victim's name has not been released, and there had been no arrests in the case at last report. It's the 12th homicide of the year in St. Paul.

The fatal shooting in Minneapolis happened at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday on the 3000 block of Dupont Avenue North. The victim — a man believed to be in his 40s — was found outside. He was transported to a hospital where he later died.

There had been no arrests in the case at last report.

In the other Minneapolis shootings over the weekend, police said the first happened at about 6:30 p.m. Friday on the 1600 block of Washington Avenue North. Two adults were wounded by gunfire in that incident.

Four hours later, three juveniles were wounded by gunfire in the 3400 block of Emerson Avenue North.

Police said all of the injuries were not life-threatening. Both incidents remain under investigation; further details were not immediately available.
