This week's mellow vinyl pick, by co-host Sean McPherson and Brittany Lind from The Current's Duluth outpost was Nick Drake's 1972 album "Pink Moon." Coming in at about 15 minutes per side, McPherson did a lot of record flipping (which you'll hear!).

McPherson said, "To me Nick Drake is like a warm sweater. There’s a fragility to his music that is so unflinching. He’s tender, he’s broken. But the overall experience is warm. Dismal and warm."

For our relationship advice segment with The Purple Current's Sanni Brown, it was all about the kids in the basement. You know the ones: video game-playing, Cheeto-eating, gap year-taking teens! Her advice is spot on, but parents beware: it involves beating the kids at their own (video) game!

For our Go Big and Go Home Segment, Joe Friedrichs from WTIP in Grand Marais, Minn., dished out (see what we did there?) his recommendations for great take-out up in the Arrowhead region. Food trucks, carry-out and curbside under the northern lights!

Our Silver Lining Story for this show was about a couple taking on food insecurity this holiday season. The numbers are stark: 1 in 8 Minnesotans don’t know where their next meal is coming from. Co-host Nina Moini talked about the dire situation — made worse by the pandemic — with Shawn and Jamie Morrison, and about the work they're doing with their nonprofit
