The Minnesota Aurora FC topped the Rochester FC on Thursday at TCO Stadium in Eagan with a 2-0 win to open their fourth USL W League season.
Catherine Rapp began the scoring in the 21st minute. This was followed by fourth-season player Mariah Nguyen adding to the lead in the 44th minute.
Goalkeeper Taylor Kane led a shutout victory for Minnesota.
The Aurora remain unbeaten in USL W League regular-season games during their first season under head coach Jen Larrick. A Massachusetts native, Larrick was an assistant coach for the team for the first two seasons.
Rochester FC’s roster includes international pros like Jayda Brown, who played professionally in Poland last year and Zerina Markovic, who is member of the Bosnian National team.
The Aurora are headed to Racine, Wis. where they will play RKC Third Coast on Sunday.
