A 2-year-old girl was shot and killed at a home in Minneapolis early Monday. Police said they believe the child was killed by her father, who then fatally shot himself.
They are investigating the case as a murder-suicide.
Police said the child’s mother was in the residence at the time but was not physically injured.
“This is an unimaginable, heartbreaking tragedy,” Minneapolis police Chief Brian O’Hara said in a statement. “Our hearts are with the child’s mother as she faces an overwhelming loss, and with the officers and investigators who responded to such a devastating scene.”
