Authorities in Minneapolis said late Tuesday that a 12-year-old girl who had been missing for days was found safe.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said Tuesday evening that the girl — who had been last seen on Saturday near Minnehaha Falls — was located after reportedly being at a friend’s house. The circumstances of where she was over those few days remains under investigation.
Police had asked for the public’s help in finding the girl. There had been added urgency because she has Type 1 diabetes and uses an automatic insulin pump, and there was concern she might run out of insulin. Police said Tuesday that she was found in good health.
Dozens of police officers, family members, friends and community members had helped search for the girl while she was missing.
Correction (Aug. 5, 2025): An earlier version of this story, while the search was underway, incorrectly reported the girl’s height. The story was updated.
