The Minnesota Wild have signed goaltender Filip Gustavsson to a five-year, $34 million contract extension, 

The deal, which carries an average annual value of $6.8 million, begins with the 2026-27 season and runs through 2030-31 season.

Gustavsson, 27, started 58 games last season, posting a 31-19-6 record with a 2.56 goals-against average, a .914 save percentage and five shutouts. 

He ranked among the NHL’s top goaltenders in several categories,

 including tying for third in shutouts and finishing fifth in save percentage. 

Since joining the Wild in a 2022 trade from Ottawa, Gustavsson has played in 142 games (138 starts) and tallied a 73-46-17 record with a 2.59 goals against average, a .914 save percentage  and 11 shutouts. 

The extension comes just days after the Wild 

 to an eight-year, $136 million contract extension, the richest deal in NHL history.

 Thursday, Oct. 9, against the St. Louis Blues.
