Community group collecting ribbons tied after Annunciation shooting for art project

The Minneapolis community showed an outpouring of support in the aftermath of the shooting at the Annunciation School and Church in August by displaying thousands of green and blue bows in the Twin Cities, especially southwest Minneapolis.
Now city officials and the community group Bows of Love aim to collect all the bows still on display in Minneapolis, St. Paul and some surrounding suburbs.
Sarah Henning, who volunteers with Bows of Love, says the collected ribbons will be handed over to Annunciation and repurposed for a still-in-development student art project.
"Our goal is to have all of the ribbons on public spaces collected from Minneapolis by October 31,” Henning said.
The deadline to collect the ribbons is Nov. 8 for nearby suburbs and by Nov. 15 for St. Paul.
“We want folks to use this opportunity now as we're collecting them, to be in community with each other and find this new way to share support and show love back for the Annunciation students,” Henning said.
