With the start of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan just weeks away, the rosters for U.S. Ice Hockey and Paralympic Sled Hockey have been announced. 

The ice hockey teams host a slew of Minnesotans and professional hockey players for the Frost and Wild including four-time Olympians and Frost players Kendall Coyne Schofield and Lee Stecklein and Wild players Brock Faber, Matt Boldy and Quinn Hughes. 

The men’s hockey roster includes a number of Minnesota Wild players including Brock Faber of Maple Grove, Matt Boldy and Quinn Hughes. 

Faber is one of two players named to the roster returning to the Olympic stage after competing for Team USA in Beijing in 2022. 

Another 23 players make their Olympic debut. Minnesotans make up a strong presence for first-time Olympians including Jake Guentzel of Woodbury who plays for the Tampa Bay Lightning, Brock Nelson of Warroad who plays for the Colorado Avalanche and Jake Oettinger of Lakeville who plays for the Dallas Stars. 

Sweden picked Jesper Wallstedt and Filip Gustavsson of the Minnesota Wild as its goaltenders for the Winter Olympics.

“We’re excited about our team and congratulate everyone named today,” said Bill Guerin, general manager of the U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team. 

Guerin is also the general manager and president of hockey operations for the Minnesota Wild. 

“It was incredibly difficult for our management group to get to the final roster and that’s a credit to so many in our country, including all those at the grassroots level who help make our sport so strong,” Guerin said. “There’s nothing like the Olympics and I know our players and staff will represent our country well and work hard to achieve our ultimate goal.”

The U.S. will open Olympic competition against Latvia on Feb. 12 in preliminary round play at Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena.

Team USA’s women’s ice hockey brings back 11 players who were a part of the 2022 U.S. Olympic team that took home silver in Beijing. Those returning players make up nearly half of the 23-player roster for this year’s winter games. 

Five-time Olympian Hilary Knight from Sun Valley, Idaho will set a U.S. women’s hockey record for most Winter Olympic Games appearances after winning gold in 2018 and three silver medals.

Knight is joined by four-time Olympians and Minnesota Frost players forward Kendall Coyne Schofield and defender Lee Stecklein of Roseville, Minn.

Frost teammates forward Kelly Pannek, a three-time Olympian and Plymouth native, and Grace Zumwinkle, a two-time Olympian and Excelsior native, also join the team.

Two-time Olympians Caroline Harvey of the University of Wisconsin and Abbey Murphy of the University of Minnesota were named to the national team, as well. 

of Lake City and Britta Curl-Salemme of Bismarck, N.D. will make their Olympic debuts. 

Another to join the roster is Rory Guilday

of Chanhassen, who is plays for the Ottawa Charge. 

“Our staff has spent the past few months evaluating our incredible player pool and while the depth of the group makes these decisions incredibly hard, we are so excited for this team to compete in Milan,” said Katie Million, general manager of the U.S. Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey Team. 

“This team brings excitement, passion and pride, and will represent the United States proudly as they look to win gold come February.”

Twenty-one of the 23 players were part of the gold medal-winning 2025 U.S. Women’s National Team that won the 2025 IIHF Women’s World Championship. 

These are the first Olympics since the PWHL began play in 2024. The now eight-team league is expected to make an impact by raising the level of international competition and bridging the gap among nations trailing the two global powers U.S. and Canada.

The U.S. roster features 16 PWHL players.

Team U.S.A., who’s favored to win gold next month, opens Olympic competition with a preliminary round game against Czechia on Feb. 5 at Milano Rho Ice Hockey Arena. 

Fourteen players were named to the initial 2026 U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey Team to fight for Team USA’s fifth-straight Paralympic gold medal. 

The roster includes five-time Paralympian Josh Pauls, four-time Paralympians Declan Farmer, Jen Lee and Brody Roybal and a number of three- and two- time Paralympians. 

Liam Cunningham of River Falls, Wis. is one of two players making their Paralympic debut in Milan. 

“It is a great blend of high-powered forwards who can score, a solid dependable defensive core and goaltending,” said said Dan Brennan, general manager of the U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey Team about the roster. “We’re excited to bring this group to Milan and to round out our roster to 17 players in the coming weeks.”

The team begins the Paralympics playing against host Italy on March 7 at Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena.
