White House “border czar” Tom Homan said he had productive meetings Tuesday with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.

In a post on social media, Homan said that he and local leaders all want to support law enforcement.

“While we don’t agree on everything, these meetings were a productive starting point,” Homan said.

Walz and Frey also called the meetings productive, and said they’re pushing the federal government to end the surge of immigration agents to Minnesota. Both said they’ll stay in communication with Homan.

Homan said he’s planning for more conversations with stakeholders in the coming days.

President Donald Trump sent Homan to Minnesota this week to oversee immigration enforcement, replacing Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino, who was moved out of the state.
