“Denny Hansen, longtime manager in MPR's broadcast operations department, is retiring Monday after 35+ years with the company. Denny has been behind the scenes keeping MPR on the air since 1989, and for quite some time has managed the 24/7/365 team of master control engineers. Denny has particularly been known for his vast knowledge of satellite delivery of programming and has been the MPR go-to contact for the emergency alert system for many years. He will be greatly missed in ops but we wish him well in retirement! He's been working here longer than many of us young MPR folks have been alive!”

Several dozen friends and relatives played broomball for hours in a Minnesota record 40 degrees below zero. (Not windchill!) Thanks to lots of lutefisk and Aquavit, he’s still going strong. Happy 70th birthday!”
