Oh, For Sleet’s Sake: MnDOT announces Name a Snowplow winners

Winners include 'Flurrious George' and 'K Pop Blizzard Hunter'

From plays on film and TV titles, to iconic idioms and band names, the 2025-26 Name a Snowplow winners might read like snow-inspired misspellings.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation released the winning names to don snow plows throughout the state for each of the agency’s eight districts across Minnesota.

  • Flurrious George – District 6 (Southeast Minnesota)

  • Sled Zeppelin – District 2 (Northwest Minnesota)

  • K Pop Blizzard Hunter – District 8 (Southwest Minnesota)

  • Minne-Snow-ta – District 1 (Northeast Minnesota)

  • Every Day I’m Shovelin’ – District 7 (South Central Minnesota)

  • O Brother, Where Art Plow? – District 4 (West Central Minnesota)

  • The Life of a Snowgirl – Metro District (Twin Cities)

It’s MnDOT’s sixth annual contest. MnDOT asks Minnesotans to “submit witty, unique and Minnesota or winter-themed snowplow names.”

More than 18,800 people voted for this year’s finalists.
