A judge has ordered the Department of Homeland Security to pay $9,334 to the attorneys who represented Garrison Gibson. 

Gibson is the Liberian-born Minneapolis man who was 

 who broke down his door without a signed judicial warrant on Jan. 11. 

Gibson's arrest was recorded on video by his wife, who can be heard demanding the agents show a warrant and that they put their guns down. 

After his arrest, Gibson was flown to a detention facility in El Paso, Texas, despite a court order blocking DHS from transporting him out of state. After Gibson’s attorney asked ICE about this violation of the judge’s order, an agent acknowledged the error and had Gibson flown back to Minnesota.

The order issued by Judge Jeffrey Bryan Monday requires DHS repay the legal costs within 30 days.
