A pair of Minnesota high school girls basketball programs continued their dominant streaks while another pair took home their first title in Saturday’s state championship games.

The Rosemount Irish girls basketball team upset the defending champion Hopkins Royals 63-62 to claim the Class 4A title.

The Irish rallied late with a 10-2 run in the final five minutes of the game. The win is the Irish’s first state title.

In Class A, the Sleepy Eye Saint Mary’s Knights won their first state title by defeating the Mountain Iron-Buhl Rangers 80-63.

In Class 2A, the Providence Academy Lions sealed a half-decade of dominance, besting the Marshall School Hilltoppers from Duluth, 95-60. The win gives the Lions their fifth straight state championship.

The Lions weren’t the only powerhouse looking to continue their streak. In Class 3A, the Benilde-St. Margaret’s Red Knights beat the Stewartville Tigers 75-63 to win their fourth straight title.
