Edina police say one person is dead after a shooting Wednesday. The department says three men are in custody in connection to an investigation near West 66th Street.
Officers made the arrests around 4:15 Wednesday afternoon. Police believe the victim and suspects knew each other.
The scene has since cleared, and the road is back open.
Authorities are asking anyone with security footage from the Southdale area to come forward.
“When officers arrived, they found one victim with a gunshot wound,” Edina Police Chief Todd Milburn said Wednesday afternoon at a press conference on the scene. “Despite lifesaving measures, the victim died. The suspects ran away from the scene before officers arrived, and officers are still following up on leads.”
A number of local businesses went into lockdown at the request of local police.
