The PWHL postponed Monday’s Game 5 semifinal matchup between the Minnesota Frost and Montréal Victoire.

The final game set for 6 p.m. Monday at Place Bell in Montréal was rescheduled to 6 p.m. Tuesday due to player safety concerns related to illness.

All tickets for Monday’s game will be honored for the Tuesday game. The PWHL said fans who purchased tickets through the Victoire or Ticketmaster and are unable to attend Tuesday will be contacted directly about their tickets.

The league said in a release they made the decision to delay the match in Montréal after consulting with medical personnel due to player safety concerns due to illness. They said they will reschedule the game “as medical guidance determines it is appropriate to resume play.”

Two people with knowledge of situation told The Associated Press the illness is limited to Montreal.

The people spoke on condition of anonymity because the PWHL is not revealing that information.

The league said the symptoms were not consistent with hantavirus.

The winner will face the Ottawa Charge in the Walter Cup final after they defeated the Boston Fleet in the other first-round matchup. Minnesota won the title in each of the league’s first two years of existence and is going for a three-peat.

The PWHL said earlier in the day that Games 3 and 4 of the final at Ottawa were set for May 18 and May 20. It was also not clear if those dates would be affected by the postponement.
