“Mom/Millie is celebrating her 100th Birthday today! She is a woman of many talents and has lived a very full life. Millie raised 10 children on the farm near Forest City with her beloved husband, Howard. She has 17 grandchildren, 22 plus one one on the way great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and extended relatives. She is known as Mom, Mother, Grandma, Aunt Millie and Great Millie. She is also known as "wonder mother" as she can fix almost anything, has baked the best bread in the world and has always been a great neighbor, friend and community/church member. She taught us the importance of hard work, the meaning of "use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without" but mostly she led by a quiet example of loving and caring for others. She loves animals of all kinds, especially cats. She loves to read and is always curious about the world and concerned about others. Her favorite music is Johann Strauss waltzes. Every birthday she told us the only thing she wants is "peace and quiet" and rubber scrapers. We have been unable to fulfill the first of those requests much of the time but MAYBE while not partying today, she'll have a little of it! We LOVE YOU MOM!”
