“Doris Broz of Burnsville celebrates her 100th birthday today! She still thrives living on her own near Buck Hill in Burnsville. A founding member of House of Prayer Lutheran Church in Richfield (1953), Doris grew up in Deephaven before graduating high school from Minneapolis Central High School, Doris and her husband Mel (deceased, 2018) raised three children Steve, Sue and Nancy. A century celebration this weekend will bring together 9 grand kids and 16 great grand kids. Doris loves to spend time with friends and family sharing a meal and catching up with old friends over a meal. She is an excellent cook. Doris and Mel were married in 1948 and Mel was a World War II vet serving with the Marines on Iwo Jima where he saw the flag raising.”
