Michael Kim wasn't the only golfer going low Friday at the TPC Twin Cities.
Minnesota native Muzzy Donohue shot 8-under 63 in front of a home crowd at the 3M Open.
While Kim's 59 set new tournament and course records, Donohue set himself up to make a run at a top-10 finish in his PGA Tour debut.
"It was unreal. It's hard to put words to it," said Donohue, who was a two-sport athlete at St. Thomas Academy and a finalist for Mr. Minnesota Golf in 2019. "I mean, I've never really experienced this before. This is my first PGA TOUR event. ... I just kind of tried to stay between the ropes and focus on what I could control."

The 25-year-old Southpaw birdied six of his first nine holes after starting his round on the 10th hole. He added three more birdies on the front, but gave one back on his final hole to drop back to 6-under. Despite the hiccup, Donohue is 10-under over his last 25 holes and sticking around for the weekend.
"It's been awesome kind of being the hometown kid," said Donohue, who was a two-sport athlete at St. Thomas Academy and a finalist for Mr. Minnesota Golf in 2019. "Having a bunch of my friends come out and watch.
It's already been an emotional week for Donohue as he's playing just days after the death of his grandmother. But he says she's been with him as he's navigated the course the past two days... for the most part.
"Yesterday she left me for the first 10 holes or so, then she kind of came into play," joked Donohue, who is using a ballmarker with the word "grandma" engraved on it. "But, yeah, she's looking down on me and looking out for me. It was a good day."
