St. Louis and Lake counties downgraded several evacuation zones, meaning people will soon be able to return to their homes.
The downgrades will go into effect at 7 p.m. Sunday. Three zones in St. Louis County and one in Lake County will remain in “Go” status, meaning evacuation orders are still in place.
The rest of the remaining “Go” areas are in “Set” status, meaning people can return to their homes and properties, though should be ready to leave if conditions change.
Zones in “Set” status are downgraded to “Ready,” the lowest level in the “Ready, Set, Go” model. Zones that were in Ready status now have no evacuation status.
The four remaining “Go” zones are:
Zones 200 and 201 along the Cloquet Line due to continued risk from the Camp Fire, which is still burning near the roadway.
Zone 100 along the Echo Trail as crews clean up and clear burned trees that risk falling.
The area adjacent to the fire area in Lake County.
The changes will not appear on the evacuation map until 7 p.m.
