U.S. men's soccer team to play Canada at Allianz Field this fall

Fresh off its run at the World Cup this summer, the U.S. men’s soccer national team will play an international friendly against Canada this fall at Allianz Field in St. Paul.
That match will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
“When you think about playing in Minnesota, the first thing that comes to mind are the videos we have seen of the amazing atmosphere the fans create, both for Minnesota United and all the times the National Team has played important matches there and been successful,” USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino said in a statement Tuesday announcing the upcoming match. “For the staff, those scenes looked like they rival some of the best environments we have seen in our careers. I’m sure playing against Canada will bring even more energy to the stadium.”
The U.S. men’s and women’s teams have played a combined seven previous matches at Allianz Field — and have posted shutout wins each time. The U.S. men last played in St. Paul in 2023.

It will be the last in a series of four matches the U.S. men’s team is playing this fall — starting Sept. 26 against Peru in Orlando, Florida.
The other matches are Sept. 29 against Chile in St. Louis, and Oct. 3 against Mexico in Glendale, Arizona.
All four matches will be broadcast on TNT, HBO Max, Telemundo, Universo and Peacock.
The games come on the heels of the U.S. team’s run to the round of 16 at the World Cup. They also will serve as the first action since Pochettino agreed to a new deal that puts him under contract as the U.S. men’s coach through 2030.
“We are so excited to start this new phase of our journey with matches in front of our home fans,” Pochettino said in a statement. “Their amazing energy during the summer has set the standard.
“Our objective is always to play the best opponents possible, and these matches provide a variety of experiences for this group of players as we begin this new chapter of the U.S. Men’s National Team.”
The 2030 World Cup will be held in Spain, Portugal and Morocco.
