Olivia Miles is making a habit of being named the Kia WNBA Rookie of the Month.

For the fourth time in a row, most recently for August, she received the honor.

This makes her the only rookie this season to get the accomplishment. This also makes her the first rookie in Lynx history to earn the title four times.

Miles currently leads all rookies in scoring, assists and efficiency. She’s averaging 19.7 points on 49.5 percent shooting from the floor.

The former TCU guard from Phillipsburg, N.J., was the second overall draft pick. Since then, she quickly won the heart of Minnesotans, most recently being the muse for crop art designs submitted to the Minnesota State Fair.

“It’s crazy, I feel like my life just kind of changed in a few months a lot,” Miles said. “I thought people knew me at TCU, but this is a whole different level, and I have a whole city behind me.”

Aside from leading the rookie class, she ranks seventh in the WNBA in assists, eighth in scoring and 10th in efficiency.

In August alone, she averaged 20.6 points on 50.3 percent shooting from the floor, helping Minnesota achieve a 7-3 record. During the Lynx’s last game on Aug. 30, she broke Hall of Famer and former Lynx Seimone Augustus’ franchise single-season rookie scoring record with 749 points.

The WNBA is on FIBA World Cup break until later this month. The Lynx will be playing next at home on Sept. 18 against the New York Liberty.
