Are you dreading having “the talk” with your teenage son?

Peggy Orenstein expected that conversations with young men about sex and masculinity might take some prodding, but she found that young men were eager to discuss the most intimate parts of their lives.

She wrote, “They confided their insecurities, pressures and pains; their anxieties about sexual performance; their desire to connect and their fears about doing so.”

Orenstein was no stranger to the subject. She wrote about “Girls & Sex” in 2016.

She joined MPR News host Kerri Miller for a conversation about her new book, “Boys & Sex: Young Men on Hookups, Love, Porn, Consent, and Navigating the New Masculinity.”
