The trees are leafing out nicely, and my lawn needs mowing. This really feels like spring! My wife and I will be planting our annuals next week.
The weather will cooperate with most of our weekend outdoor plans as we continue to practice social distancing. Your walk, jog, bike ride or round of golf won’t be interrupted by rain and thunder.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows dry weather for almost all of Minnesota and western Wisconsin Saturday and Sunday:

The possible exception would be a chance of a shower very early Saturday in far northeastern Minnesota.

Weekend temps and winds
Our average Twin Cities high temperature is 65 degrees on May 2 and 66 degrees on May 3. We’ll see metro area highs in the 70s both days this weekend.
Saturday highs reach the 70s in most of central and southern Minnesota, plus western Wisconsin:

Northern Minnesota will see a lot of 60s.
Saturday will be the breeziest day of the weekend, with afternoon winds gusts over 20 mph in many areas:

There is some concern about fire weather conditions in parts of northern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin on Saturday, due to gusty winds and low humidity levels.
