A very special day

Wouldn’t it be nice to talk about temps in the 60s and 70s on Mother’s Day? That won’t happen this year. Mother’s Day 2020 highs will be in the 40s across most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Some spots in the Twin Cities metro area and points to the southeast may touch 50. That’s way short of our average May 10 high of 68 degrees in the Twin Cities.

It’ll be a breezy Mother’s Day, with wind gusts of 20-30 mph in many locations. Scattered showers are expected this Sunday morning in the Twin Cities metro area and southern Minnesota plus west-central Wisconsin. A few very scattered showers might also develop this afternoon in central and southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

Freeze warning Sunday night/early Monday

Winds will lighten up overnight, and lows in the 20s to lower 30s will be common early Monday morning:
