Author Curtis Sittenfeld explores ‘what-if’ in ‘Rodham’

Hillary Clinton’s life has included time spent as a presidential candidate, secretary of state, U.S. senator and mother, and as first lady of the United States.

But what if she hadn’t married President Bill Clinton? What might her life and professional career have looked like? That’s the question author Curtis Sittenfeld asks in her newest novel, “Rodham.”

Kerri Miller and Sittenfeld had a lively conversation about the novel, writing in Hillary Clinton’s voice and what she thinks about creativity during a pandemic.
