Eddie Glaude Jr. spoke at the Westminster Town Hall Forum in a broadcast on Tuesday.

Glaude is the James S. McDonnell Distinguished University Professor at Princeton University and chair of the Department of African American Studies.

“James Baldwin’s Lessons on Race in America” covered the 2020 presidential election results and the reckoning over racial justice in the United States.

“We are still in the midst of the reckoning,” Glaude said. “We have to figure out a different way of being together, and that’s going to require some hard work that goes well beyond politics or election cycles. That’s hard, ethical, moral work.”

Glaude’s books include, “In a Shade of Blue: Pragmatism and the Politics of Black America,” “Democracy in Black: How Race Still Governs the Soul of America” and “Begin Again: James Baldwin’s America and its Urgent Lessons for Our Own,” which was published this summer.

Glaude was interviewed by Tim Hart-Andersen, the pastor at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
