MN sports roundup: The Vikings have picked a new head coach
Although they have yet to confirm it publicly, the Vikings have chosen Kevin O’Connell of the Los Angeles Rams as their new head coach, according to the Star Tribune.
Does O’Connell’s relative youth suggest the Vikings are about to enter a rebuild? With more, host Cathy Wurzer was joined by Wally Langfellow, founder of Minnesota Score magazine and co-host of the "10,000 Takes" sports talk show, and Eric Nelson, the other host of "10,000 Takes" and the Minnesota Vikings reporter for CBS Sports Radio’s "Eye on Football."
They also recapped the men’s World Cup qualifier match between the U.S. and Honduras at Allianz Field in St. Paul Wednesday, which took place in bitterly cold “conditions more suited for a penguin,” according to Langfellow and Nelson.
And they previewed the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics as competition gets underway — and as temperatures continue to rise around the world due to climate change, putting future Winter Olympics in jeopardy.
