Current St. Paul Police Chief Todd Axtel announced in October that he will be stepping down in June at the end of his term. Sasha Cotton and Kathy Lantry will be leading the search for the new police chief as co-chairs of the Police Chief Examining Committee.
Lantry is a long time East Side resident who previously represented East Side neighborhoods of Ward 7 as a city council member for nearly 18 years, serving as St. Paul council president for the last 11 years. She stepped down in 2015 to become St. Paul’s public works director, a position she held until her retirement in 2020.
Now as co-chair of the Police Chief Examining Committee, Lantry joined host Cathy Wurzer to talk about her new role.
