How to keep your kids safe by the water this summer

An excessive heat warning was issued in Minnesota on Tuesday with temperatures reaching over 95 degrees in parts of the state. With these hot temps, a sunny day at the lake or pool can be a great way for many families to cool off. But Dr. Jay Sheree-Allen says before you head out, it’s good to have a safety plan in place.

Step one: get a life jacket. (Those floatie devices aren’t as safe as you may think.)
