DFL state senator will be able to vote despite ethics proceedings

A Minnesota state senator won't be disqualified from voting in the Legislature’s final weeks. Republicans tried Monday to strip DFL Sen. Nicole Mitchell of voting power. She is charged with felony burglary and awaits ethics proceedings. Also, attorneys outlined their cases in a fraud trial of seven people who allegedly diverted millions in pandemic aid from a program aimed at feeding children.
