Fallen MPD's partner thanks community support. First case of bird flu in Minnesota dairy cows

The partner of a Minneapolis police officer killed in the line of duty is thanking friends, family members and the community for their continued support. Tori Myslajek said in a statement Thursday their family is completely devastated by the loss. She said Mitchell’s greatest joys in life were his four children, who range in age from 4 to 20 years old.

And the Minnesota Board of Animal Health confirmed highly pathogenic avian influenza in a dairy herd in Benton County. While it’s the first reported case of bird flu in Minnesota dairy cows, the risk to the public is still low.
