Lawmakers expected to work beyond Monday adjournment deadline

Lawmakers are expected to be back for a special session later this week after working over the weekend ahead of Monday’s adjournment deadline. 

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office and other government agencies will be hosting a meeting Monday night about the Jenkins Creek and Camp House wildfires. Many property owners returned over the weekend to their cabins and homes near Brimson to inspect what remained after a wildfire swept through the area last week. 

Another tribal nation in northeastern Minnesota is getting into the cannabis business. The Fond du Lac band of Lake Superior Chippewa is hosting a soft launch of Anang Native Cannabis Company Monday.  

The Timberwolves will play the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference finals of the NBA playoffs Tuesday. Tip-off is at 7:30.
