St. Louis County officials post video of officer-involved fatal shooting

St. Louis County officials have released video of an officer-involved shooting two weeks ago of a man who allegedly started three homes on fire, including his own.

As of early Wednesday morning, Xcel Energy had restored electric service to about 90 percent of the customers who lost power after storms Sunday and Monday nights. The utility says it plans to complete reconnections by Thursday evening.

City of St. Paul online payment and library systems are shutdown after the city detected a cyber attack late last week. Mayor Melvin Carter says the city is working with state and federal authorities to determine what data was compromised. 

The Ramsey County Attorney’s Office has determined St. Paul police officers were legally justified in shooting a man who was brandishing a gun on a street corner in October.

Officials are calling for a third-party assessment of security measures at the state Capitol. Last weekend, a man was found in the building without authorization.

Special elections have been scheduled for two open Minnesota State Senate seats. Gov. Walz has scheduled both for Nov. 4. One of the seats was held by Republican Bruce Anderson, who died earlier this month. The other was held by Democrat Nicole Mitchell, who resigned after a conviction for breaking into her stepmother's home.
