A woman incarcerated in Georgia has confessed to a 1998 Minneapolis murder and to giving false testimony in the trial of the man convicted of the crime. 77-year old Ann Prazniak was killed in her apartment near downtown, and Brian Hooper is serving a life sentence for first-degree murder. Chalaka Young now says she, and not Hooper, killed Prazniak and hid her body in a closet.
Search crews continue to comb a high-altitude wilderness area in Wyoming for a Minnesota hiker who went missing two weeks ago. 38-year-old Grant Gardner was last heard from on the night of July 29. The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office says air and ground searches are ongoing amid rugged terrain with snow starting to fall in the higher elevations.
