The final victim of the Annunciation Catholic Church and School shooting in Minneapolis was 

 Twelve-year-old Sophia Forchas was shot on Aug. 27 in the mass shooting that left two children dead and 30 injured. Forchas and her father Tom were greeted by a crowd at HCMC after being discharged from Gillette Children's Hospital. The group celebrated her release, sang “Happy Birthday” and presented her with gifts. Forchas turns 13 on Saturday.

Gov. Tim Walz holds his first town hall on guns this weekend, part of a campaign to seek action from the Legislature on gun laws. 

The state has reached another agreement with a tribal nation to regulate recreational cannabis off tribal lands. Walz and the Office of Cannabis Management announced the signing of a compact with the Fond du Lac band of Lake Superior Chippewa, a tribe near Duluth.

There’s another closure of Interstate 94 in St. Paul this weekend as crews continue removing the John Ireland Boulevard bridge over the freeway. From 10 p.m. Friday through early Monday, the westbound lanes of I-94 will be closed between I-35E and Dale Street. The eastbound lanes will be closed between Highway 280 and downtown St. Paul.
