Man who tried bribing juror in Feeding Our Future case sentenced to nearly 5 years in prison

A federal judge has sentenced a man who tried to bribe a juror in the first Feeding Our Future trial to nearly five years in prison.

A measure is making its way through Senate committees to help Minnesotans struggling to pay rent through an emergency rental assistance program. A bill would allocate $40 million to a one-time rental assistance program.

Some Minnesota lawmakers want to recover financial damages from companies that contribute to climate change. The so-called Climate Superfund bill would calculate damages caused by greenhouse gas emissions, and send a bill to the largest polluters. The fund would be used to help communities adapt to climate change.

St. Paul Public Schools says the last day of its temporary virtual learning option for students will be Friday, March 13. That means all students who haven’t already returned to in-person learning will need to be back in school on or before March 16. The district started offering the virtual learning option in January as many families were afraid to send students to school amid the peak of the federal immigration operation. More than 7,000 St. Paul students took that option.

Legendary college football coach Lou Holtz — who won a national title at Notre Dame and coached the Minnesota Gophers — has died. He was 89 years old.
