A Hugo woman will be sentenced in September after pleading guilty to making threats against Minnesota lawmakers, including the top Republican in the Legislature. Threatening voicemails were left for House Speaker Lisa Demuth that insinuated Rachel Welsh would shoot her. The State Patrol investigated the messages, which authorities determined were politically motivated.
