Meet Cari Dwyer
Cari Dwyer is a senior producer for MPR News with Angela Davis.
Cari first caught the radio bug at Wisconsin Public Radio, where she was a producer, newscaster and guest host for several years. She helped launch the national show, “Calling All Pets,” and eventually moved to the Twin Cities to produce daily talk shows on Minnesota Public Radio. Cari then left MPR to help create hands-on exhibits around the country for the Science Museum of Minnesota. She rejoined the newsroom in 2024 and is glad to be back at MPR News, creating call-in shows that inform, inspire and include listeners.
Cari has won awards for breaking news and election coverage, but is also proud of her role in helping produce the traveling exhibition Mental Health: Mind Matters.
Cari graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning a bachelor's degree in agricultural journalism, now called life sciences communication, with a focus on science writing.
Cari’s teenagers talked her into getting chickens during the pandemic. She swore she was not going to enjoy them. She was wrong, and now rarely talks about anything else.
