
Meet Sarah Thamer
Sarah Thamer is a senior reporter for the MPR News Race, Class and Communities team. Before joining MPR News, Sarah worked as a reporter and anchor in local television news. She started her career at WKBT in La Crosse, Wisconsin, then made her way to ABC-affiliate WISN in Milwaukee. Sarah has covered a wide array of topics from the Milwaukee Bucks championship win, to uncovering illegal practices in Wisconsin’s foster care system.
Sarah has a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in public health from the University of Minnesota. Growing up in Richfield, she is thrilled to be back home covering stories in familiar communities. Sarah is passionate about telling stories in underrepresented communities and using her platform to help inform the public and share new perspectives.
