Adventurous rabbit is Kate DiCamillo's newest hero
Perhaps it's appropriate that Valentine's Day marks the release of Minneapolis author Kate DiCamillo's newest novel, "The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane." The book is, first and foremost, about love.
The tale follows a China rabbit named Edward Tulane on a trip he doesn't expect to make -- from the depths of the ocean, to a garbage heap, to the bedside of an ailing child. Edward's biggest journey, however, is a journey of the heart.
Newbery award-winning writer Kate DiCamillo is celebrating the book's release at a public event Tuesday night at the Fitzgerald Theater.
DiCamillo is perhaps best-known for her award-winning book, "Because of Winn-Dixie," which was made into a feature film in 2005. Her book, "The Tale of Despereaux," won the 2004 Newbery Medal for children's literature.
