State job growth outpaces national rate

The Minnesota economy added nearly 15,000 jobs in June, growing at almost twice the national average. State officials say that over the past few months, Minnesota enjoyed the strongest job growth in more than two decades.

The surge comes after years of sluggish hiring in Minnesota, and it is not clear just yet if the state economy will continue to add jobs. MPR's Perry Finelli spoke with economist Steve Hine, Minnesota's top labor market analyst.
