Democrat Mike Hatch blames his gubernatorial loss on E-85 and Peter Hutchinson not the fact that Democrats who voted for Amy Klobuchar didn't vote for him and he blew up the weekend before the campaign. The Pi Press has a story on his explanation for the loss. The Pi Press also takes a look at his vote totals and said Democrats didn't really like him. Here's a tip for all the Democrats who are complaining about the Independence Party and Peter Hutchinson. They're not going away so you better figure out a way to deal with them or move to another state.
Since this place is about the survivors, I'm sure that's all we'll be writing about Hatch and Hutchinson. On to Tim Pawlenty. The former MN GOP Chair says Pawlenty should run for President.
Here's my tip for the governor (I'm into giving tips today): You better stop the '08 presidential/vice presidential talk. Minnesotans don't like politically ambitious folks. It's kind of like being on a date with a girl that keeps looking at every cute guy who walks into the room. You don't mind it every once in a while but it can get real old, real fast.
The other reason you may want to quell the talk - a DFL controlled Legislature. Don't think DFLers won't delight in wedging you from here to Mason City and back. Speaking of the DFL controlled Legislature, the AP has a look at Speaker to be Margaret Anderson Kelliher and future Senate Majority Leader Larry Pogemiller. Kelliher was a Blue Earth County Dairy Princess!
