A general frost occurred overnight under the radiance of a full moon. Temperatures bottomed out in the middle to upper 20s in rural locations, from Princeton to Lakeville and into west central Wisconsin. So far the mercury has yet to tumble to the thawing point of 32 degrees at Twin Cities International Airport.
Heading into the final days of October, we will experience a cool spell but nothing bone chilling. Unless a surprise surge of Arctic air slips south out of Canada early next week, we will end the month several degrees above normal. You have to go back to February to find a month where the Twin Cities average temperature was below normal.
The good folks at the Minnesota State Cllimate Office have put together a nice summary of the relatively mild weather of this October.
