Dropping hints to Old Man Winter

It’s always nice to anticipate and welcome guests. The hard part comes in dropping hints that it might be time to move on.

Old Man Winter checked in on December 1st. He’s been hanging around like well worn magazines in a doctor’s office for several months. Wind chills of sub zero greeted Minnesotans on Monday morning on the heels of a rather spring like Saturday and early Sunday.

Mother Nature will give the old man a nudge with a warm front on Tuesday that will stir up some snow showers across the state through early Wednesday.

More arctic cold, accompanied by gusty northwest winds on Wednesday will serve as a reminder that the transition from winter to spring is a process, not an event in the Northland.

Moderation in temperatures is in the offing for the weekend. Models are hinting that the weather pattern could offer better chances for needed moisture next week.
