Committees in both the House and Senate will consider legislation today that would ban the hunting of mourning doves. In 2004, Gov. Pawlenty and state lawmakers allowed the hunting of the birds after the practice was banned for nearly sixty years. This is always a lively and emotional issue that doesn't cut along party lines.
